Dawn Pritchard

Lawyer Consultant

Dawn is an experienced lawyer and consultant who serves Indigenous clients, particularly Inuit and Métis. She received her LLB at the University of Saskatchewan and is licensed to practice law in Nunavut and Ontario.

She is experienced writing reports, analyzing and drafting legislation, recommending amendments to legislation that benefit Indigenous clients and offering creative ways to work within existing legal frameworks.

Before starting her own firm, Dawn worked with the Department of Justice Canada. Most of that time was spent at Environmental Legal Services working on the Species at Risk Act and Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994 as they are interrelated with Indigenous rights and land claims agreements. Dawn's last position at Justice Canada was with the Procurement law group where she worked exclusively on requests for proposals, and contracts for goods and services.

Dawn loves writing, whether it is a report analyzing legislation, legislation itself, a contract, a legal opinion, or even a song.

Dawn is a Métis whose homeland is Saskatchewan.
